Senior Player Affairs Officer
Responsibilities:
- Strengthen the support system for players by integrating mental health resources and career development counseling into player development programs.
- Develop a comprehensive feedback mechanism to assess player satisfaction and incorporate feedback into continuous improvement of services.
- Implement a structured mentoring program that pairs emerging talents with experienced players to enhance their development and integration into professional levels.
- Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and other support staff to develop and implement player development programs focused on enhancing performance, skills development, and overall well-being.
- Coordinate player registration, accommodations, transportation, and other logistics for tournaments and events, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for players.
- Educate players on golf rules, regulations, and protocols, ensuring compliance with governing bodies' guidelines and regulations.
- Advocate for players' interests and rights within the organization and the broader golf community, representing their perspectives and concerns to management and stakeholders.
- Communicate regularly with players to provide updates, information, and resources related to tournaments, events, training opportunities, and other relevant matters.
- The manager is authorized to assign the employee to any task within the department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in sports management, business administration, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification in player development or sports administration is preferred.
- Require a minimum of 5 years of experience in player affairs or athlete management, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked directly with elite sports professionals.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively with players, coaches, staff, and external stakeholders.
Certification in athlete welfare, sports psychology, or career counseling is highly preferred to enhance player support capabilities.
Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality, ensuring that player interactions are managed with discretion and empathy.
- Skills in conflict resolution and negotiation, enabling effective mediation in disputes and advocacy for player interests.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of golf rules, regulations, and protocols, with a keen understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities associated with elite-level competition.
Emphasize commitment to ethical standards and integrity in all interactions and decisions, upholding the federation's values and ensuring fair treatment of all athletes.
